Dr Quang Thang Trinh (Victor)
Dr Quang Thang Trinh received the PhD degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2014. After graduation, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU) and at the Cambridge Centre for Advanced Research and Education in Singapore (CARES) for 7 years before joining A*STAR as a Research Scientist in 2021. Currently, Dr Trinh is a Research Fellow and a Program Manager in the ARC Laureate Fellowship project at the Queensland Micro and Nanotechnology Centre (QMNC), Griffith University since 2023.
Dr Trinh's research areas focus on catalyst design and process development for sustainable chemistry in methane activation, CO2 reduction, N2 fixation, sonocatalysis, plasma-catalysis, plastic waste recycling and biomass conversion. Throughout his career, he has authored 55 research articles, 10 review papers and 7 book chapters, with the majority of them published in top international journals in the field of materials development for sustainable chemical engineering and green chemistry. In addition to research activities, Dr Trinh also has track record of successfully applying for research grants from both academic and industrial resources, resulting in the total of ~AU$1.7M grant income.
Dr Sharda Yadav
Dr Sharda Yadav received her PhD degree from Griffith University in 2020 under the supervision of Prof Nam-Trung Nguyen. Her research background lies in the development of novel diagnostic technologies for the early detection of diseases. She has extensive experience in cell cultures, use of stretchable membrane, electrochemistry including method developments for novel applications, biochemical, serological and microbiological assays, handling clinical samples, nanoparticle functionalization and manipulation, and immunoassays development. Her research interest includes uncovering the role of biophysical properties associated with the microenvironment of a tumour. She is also interested and involved in the IMCRC project for patch-based glucose detection system manufacturing, especially working on biocompatibility testing of the materials and electrochemical sensing of the devices. Sharda has obtained Master of Science, Medical Laboratory Technology in clinical Biochemistry and Bachelor of Science, Medical Laboratory Technology from Manipal University, India. She was the recipient of GUPRS and GUIPRS from Griffith University for the doctoral degree. She also received the GU publication award and GU-International Student Research Forum travel grant during her PhD. She is registered as a Clinical Biochemist in Nepal Health professional council. She is also a member of Australian Early- and Mid-Career Researcher (EMCR) Forum.
